I seem to lose a bunch of weight at once (like 5 pounds) and then hit a major stand still for a few eels, or month, and then lose 5 pounds again. It's so frustrating to see the scale sit on the same numbers for weeks at a time, after a huge victory of 5 pounds. I haven't figured out what's triggering the loss or stand still yet, but it sure if flipping annoying. Anyone else having this problem?

Well, it's not a problem but my body does this too. I think it just holds on to water weight for awhile0

This happens to EVERYONE at some point during training... best thing to do is try to not get annoyed and do not give up! From what I have read (this isn't just my own opinion) a weight loss plateau usually is from your body metabolism being fully adjusted to your current routine. You've reached a spot where the calories burned are equal to the calories eaten. Now is the time to look at your workout patterns and diet and make some new changes to restart the weight loss. Maybe add more cardio, maybe add strength training, maybe switch your diet a bit. Also keep in mind that your body weight can plateau because of water retention. Especially if you have leveled off for only a week or two. Hope this helps!
From my own experience, I hit a plateau twice coming down from 106 kg. Levelled off at 94 kg and again 82 kg but now after 2 weeks it has started dropping again thanks to supplement and more weight training. Good luck!0 -
This was the pattern for me for 50 lbs. 2 weeks of no loss, then some would just drop.
The key is to focus on the process - if you get that right the results WILL come. Faster for some people than others, but it will happen.0 -
It's not a plateau if your weight stays the same and drops 5 pounds after 3-4 weeks. That is around a 1 lb a week loss which is completely normal. It's just the scale sometimes doesn't reflect changes right away0

are you losing inches?0

I haven't kept track of inches, but my clothes are definitely looser. To date I've lost 32 pounds, but that's been since February. It's slow, but it's coming off, it's just hard when you see others losing faster than you do. I'm proud of my progress so far, I just need to not weigh myself day after day so I don't get discouraged by the scale. Dang scale!!0
