3 weeks in almost and could use some support ...

... to keep me going.

I am 178 cm (5'10) and started at 91 kilos and a snug size 16 (UK). Yuck and yikes! My inner image of myself is "happy and healthy", but the pictures of me showed flappy and tired and "squishy". I WANT to be healthy and happy though. Now, "thin" does not equal happy of course. But fat certainly doesn't either - and I was firmly heading that way. I have felt miserable about my shape and weight for some time, and it was spilling into my personal life (when I don't feel good about myself, I don't think e.g. my husband could possibly like the look of me either etc.), but really thought "uh oh" when I realised that I avoid looking in any mirror when I pass it, when I shop etc. If I catch a glimpse of myself, I quickly turn my head away -even at home!... Not good - and certainly uncalled for as a grown, otherwise kick-*kitten* and confident woman and mom...

My goal is to lose 10 kilos absolutely and for sure. This would put me at my pre-baby weight, but still over my target weight a little. If I can, I would really like to lose 15 kilos and maintain that loss. But mainly I am doing this to get in shape and be healthy - and to stop avoiding mirrors! It's not right and it's certainly not a good example to set for my 4 y.o. Healthy, however, is a great example to show your kid(s), so that - on top of just feeling plain better with the weight off me - is an added motivator.

I am almost 3 weeks in (on Friday this week) and have so far lost 3 kilos. It would be great with some support and motivation to keep me going as the novelty is wearing off a little. I'd happily support and motivate right back. So feel free to "add" me :)

One kilo a week is a fantastic loss! Whatever you're doing its working :) you will be at your goal before you know it. Stock some motivational quotes or pictures on your fridge/mirror to keep you focused

Thanks! There was a brilliant post FULL of motivational pictures and qoutes approx. 2 weeks ago. I loved that one, but now cannot find it. I'll stick the scales in front of the fridge instead though
