Eating my meals differently

Okay, I am TRYING to be more serious with my weight loss/better health plan. Through logging calories, I now realize how many calories I was over eating!

I am a huge snacker--terrible!!!!

So my plan is.... to break up my meals and eat more times throughout the day. For example-my breakfast is now wheat toast, olivio with skim milk and kashi cereal. i am not going to eat my toast earlier and then have my cereal later.

I will be eating the same amount of calories, but rewarding myself with getting to snack!

What do you all think?

I eat multiple times a day in small amounts to keep me feeling satisfied. I can eat a 600 calorie meal and be just as hungry 3 hours later as if I had eaten a 300 calorie meal. So I eat my meals about 3-4 hours apart. I guess it is whatever makes success easier for you mentally. Good luck!

So true about being hungry 3 hours later.

    Good luck to you too!

It sounds like a good plan for a snacker to me. Too often people get caught up with eating when they think they should be eating instead of when they enjoy eating. It's much easier to make any diet sustainable long term if you enjoy it.

    Good luck to you!

Sounds like a good plan! I also try and push water as much as I can so I don't feel the need to eat all the time. I eat out of habit, and stress. Hard habit to break but I'm getting there.

What she said! I had a really hard time deciphering thirst from hunger. You should never be thirsty if you're drinking enough water.

I do basically the same thing but with one snack. I have a snack between lunch and dinner.....I should probably eat one between breakfast and lunch but I get so busy at work I forget. When I feel those hunger pains I drink a big glass of water first (at least I try....I need to get better at that) and if I am still hungry I eat a healthy snack. I eat out of boredom way too often and it is my biggest hurdle to get past. Logging on here does really show you how many calories you are eating....it surprised me too. Keeps you accountable.

    Thanks for all the responses!

    Good ideas!

I am going to pay attention to 2 things with my TRYING HARDER plan:

    Much more water

My snacking is definitely a habit. Go do something different instead of the same old, same old. (I ate a small salad at 10 pm the other night instead of bad snack food-go figure)
