Cutting Down On Sugar

I've been working on eating more whole and natural foods. I have food allergies to most processed foods anyway (I'm allergic to corn, peanuts and sesame seeds). However, I find that I keep going over my recommended sugar for the day, without going over in calories or carbs. Most of this sugar is the result of fruit. Any suggestions for cutting down sugar? I work outside and pack a lunch of raw fruits and veggies most days, which is where I end up going over.
