I shower 4 times a day and i cant help it!! any ideas....this is embarrassing and i know it happens with a lot of mothers i was just wondering because if anyone has ideas it would help. I will be coughing for another week or two with this pneumonia and i want to get out of the house!!

Kegals! Worked for me and it is VERY common among new mommies!0

I have had that issue before. certain exercises, well in my situation any exercise, can help. Also, maybe invest in some articles specifically designed for leakage..0

yes kegals. Also let ur doctor know.0

A non immediate answer would be to practice kegels. Basically it is an exercise for the muscle that stops the flow of urine. When you are going to the bathroom figure out where they are by stopping your pee halfway through. Then during the day whenever you think about it do the same thing as if you are cutting off the pee and hold for the count of 5, do this several times. Then increase the amount of time you hold, or decrease the time and increase the reps...Maybe fun
As far as right now, does it help if you cross your legs and try to hold it in? I have had to do that before.:blushing: Good luck.
Have you spoken with your doc about this? After pregnancy it is common to have issues--but you may want to make sure there is nothing else going on.0 -
I have the same issue and i cross my legs when i cough or sneeze so i don't pee my pants don't think your the only person dealing with this and your very brave to come out and say it cause most of us don't.... Kegals are wonderful to help with this !!!! You can google great Kegal exercises that will help with bladder control due to pregnancy !!!0

This was a big problem for a friend of mine and she had to have surgery to correct. So, if the kegals don't work, definitely tell your doctor.0

i pee when i throw up - have since the birth of my first baby!! everytime i have to throw up (which was a LOT while prego with baby #2) i had to take my pants off first LOL thank goodness for tile floors!!! :noway:
Good luck with everything. I agree with the kegals. :flowerforyou:0 -
Whoa...this thread is pretty...informative. lol
As if giving birth doesn't do enough to our bodies, right? I can't stress enough- tell your doctor, and keep him/her informed about the situation. There are medications that can help as well.0 -
This does sound bigger than kagels. your bladder could be prolapsed. Or over stretched. Either way this sounds like a DR issue. You are so not alone in this one sister! I have a weak bladder and have to take meds to help it. Surgery is what they do after they have tried the meds and the pessary. Good Luck!0

yup i know a few people that have had their bladder lifted, and this does help unfortunately if you do not listen to the doctor and follow his directions then bam the surgery will fail that happened to mom0 -

This is so ironic. I just had a long conversation with my sister today about this exact issue. And I made the decision that I am going to call my Dr. tomorrow. Because if I hear the word Kegals one more time in my life.....:grumble:
It's not fun to deal with bladder issues. Good luck to you!0 -
it's called incontinence talk to your doctor-Kegals can help but it doesn't always solve the problem-Sometime medical attention is needed.0

Don't want to overwhelm this thread with TMI, so please feel free to PM me for details. Kegels can only do so much - though they are a great place to start. I had a HUGE problem with this - even tripping over a step was a total flood problem, so forget any kind of exercise!!!
There is a new surgery available now - day surgery, a 20 minute procedure, with no external incisions - 48 hour recovery before resuming most normal activities. I had it done 2 years ago. The results were immediate and life changing!!!
It's called a TVT-Secur,
Here is the article where I found the Dr. that did the procedure for me.
One of the best things to know is that weight was totally a non issue, both for the surgery and in his discussions of why I had this problem to begin with...he really believes that this is now such a simple fix for a common problem that no women should have to deal with it anymore.

If you OB/GYN doesn't give you any help go see a bladder specialist, there's a lot more involved than you might think involved with your pelvic floor, there's a lot of things that can be done.0
