Running in Duathalon - Advice

I am participating in a Run-Bike-Run Duathalon relay at the end of the month. I am doing both the running portions - 2 miles each. I am not a runner by any means but think this is doable and am excited to participate in my first race. I am going to follow a short 4 week beginner to 5k plan to get ready. Any advice would be appreciated. Specifically looking for any advice on recovery between runs. I expect to have around 40 minutes downtime during the 13 mile bike portion.
