new to working out/ weight loss

I am new to the workout/ eat healthier group. I stopped smoking about a year ago and gained an extra 50 pounds during this time. I recently joined a gym and have been trying to work out at least 5 days a week. I do the treadmill, stationary bike, ab machine, leg and arm machine, and hip machine. I have also started watching what I eat and drink. I have lost about 10 lbs but I still have about 45 lbs to go at least but I feel frustrated that I really am not sure what I am doing ( exercising,ect)
