How often per week should I do sit ups/push ups and dumbbell weights? Any ideas would be helpful as I really want to keep my body tone as I lose weight! Thanks in advance

For heavy lifting, so long as you're not working the same muscle group more often than every other day, it's pretty flexible. You can lift just about every day, IF you arrange your workouts so you're doing (for example) chest and triceps one day, then back and biceps, then legs, etc.
I prefer to just do a full body workout every other day (StrongLifts 5x5).
Push-ups and sit-ups become more of an endurance exercise once you reach a certain balance of strength to body weight, and you can do them just about any time.0 -
I do full body workouts on M/W/F and I do ab work on those days too.
Just allow 24-48 hrs of rest between each muscle group worked.0
