Good Overall Toning Exercises

I am wanting to start going to the gym and lifting weights 3 times a week. I only have a half an hour in my schedule to be able to work out so I am wanting to make the most out of it as possible. My goal is to gain lean muscle and be toned all over my body not just certain areas. I do not want to bulk up or anything just be fit and healthy. I am new to weight lifting so I am hoping maybe someone can give me some good lifts/workouts to do to get me to my goal.

    Squats
    Deadlifts
    Overhead Press
    Bench Press
    Pendlay Rows\Power Cleans

That's all you need to do

check out 'starting strength' or 'stronglifts'

    easily done in 30-45 minutes.

Agreed. Add pull-ups to the list, especially if you're not comfortable with rows/cleans.

I just started strength training after beginning excercise and modifying my caloric intake for 1 month. (The most excercise I have ever gotten on a consistent basis). Anyway, I am following the 5x5 Stronglift program, and am amazed at how hard it is, and how much I can do. It is very effective. I do everything jacksonpt said, with dips and pullups. I am still being coached on form. Good luck, I'm excited for your progress!
