I'm so sleepy!

I have been dreadfully sleepy for a few weeks now. And I was wondering if its because my calories are too low? I know too low calories will make you weak or tired but I feel like I'm falling asleep so I'm not sure...
And if it is my calories, how can I up them in a HEALTHY way?

Why don't you just up your portions in each meal slightly? Like instead of of 0.25 cup of special k, have 0.5 cup...etc.

Looks like you don't eat back your exercise calories. Eating only 1300 and then burning off a ton can be an energy drainer!

I would try to eat a little more then. You have plenty to spare most days it seems :) Try fruit, whole milk, avocados, nuts, and pb for quick calorie boosters

You seem to be consistently coming in under your goal calories, so that certainly could be contributing to your sleepiness. Try eating to your goal for a week or so and see if that helps with your energy.

It looks like you are getting plenty of proteins, so you could probably add some healthy carbs. You could add a piece of whole wheat toast to your breakfast, or some extra rice or potatoes to your dinner. For snacks, I'm a big fan of Nature Valley Granola Bars - about 190 cals for a pack of 2 bars. I also like Pita chips with hummus, or yogurt with fruit.

I experienced this badly yesterday and the day before. It is from exercising a lot and not eating enough to cover it, or not having enough rest in between the exercise. For me, it usually ends up in a binge as my body tries to replenish it's stores, then I feel better again, so I would suggest eating more, especially before and after your workout. You ideally need to be eating back at least half of your exercise calories, or yes, you will start to have a catch up effect of feeling sleepy and drained, and even nauseous. Also check your electrolyte balance is okay as you can sweat a lot during workouts and lose a lot of salts. A rehydration drink is good for that purpose.

I have the exact same problem. I have NO energy. I have to take a nap everyday including weekends. I also don't eat my required amount of calories for that day. I'm always under. Last night I was under by 717. Hmmmm, maybe . . .
