you're wrong. i picked a fight with my darling husband and in the midst of telling him how wrong he was, i came to the realization i was the one, in fact, who was wrong.

its embarrassing! what would you do?

(i owned up, apologized and did my best to make it up to him :) )

Your reaction is about the best I've ever heard of but I doubt most people would do as you have. My only question is this: why pick an argument in the first place?

I usually go really red in the face, stumble a bit and then say something along the lines of 'and I just realised I'm wrong and now I look like an idiot'.

Edited to fix silly spelling mistake

    I say "I was wrong. You're right."
Then I look really embarrassed, because it's the most embarrassing thing ever! Then I awkwardly try to explain why I was confused, and it usually ends with something like "....but I didn't think about it like that...."

I get aggravated especially if I'm the one that picked it, but with a red face I'll admit my mistake/wrongdoing and just hope there's no gloating or wtf's on the other end. Though if it's with my boyfriend he always knows when I'm wrong or when I'm BSing and will calmly point it out and just let me admit it from there or look stupid trying to save face.

oh well, because i was in a bad mood, and i thought he had done something wrong. i've been good lately, but i have bi polar disorder, and sometimes i cant see past how mad i am. no excuse, i hate when i do this, normally i'm a good wife.

Never apolgise for being wrong. It sends the message that you are week. Better to continue with the ruse and hope it blows over......Not what to do.

Usually that dawning awareness that I'm wrong happens internally and I get that 'deer in the headlights' look. If I can't smoothly make it look like I've been agreeing with the person the whole time, I apologize for being wrong.

We are talking spouses here, right?

I tend not to argue about things unless I clearly know the answer.

But in a rare case.. Backpeddle. Hard.
