Subject line pretty much says it all. Do you wear underwear with jogging shorts that have the liner built in?

Never. Hate, hate underwear while working out.

No - that is what the liner is for.

Yes, I wear under armour compression shorts (in shorts with and without the liner) for the same reason I wear a seat belt in the car but I suspect my anatomical requirements are different from the OP's.

Thanks for the input. I assumed I was the odd one out, but I sweat so much that if I don't, my shorts look like I wet myself! :grumble:

This thread suddenly makes me think I should stop wearing underwear with jogging shorts...I never really thought about going without them. I am with you farmgirl, I am worried I would be too sweaty!

I wear compression shorts under my jogging shorts to prevent chaffing. They've started making jogging shorts with slightly longer compression liners, I don't wear underwear with those.

I take all the *kitten* support I can get.
  • Welp, I rarely wear underwear at all, so this would be a no.. :blushing:

Exactly! I'm a crazy sweater!! I came home from Zumba the other night and it totally looked like I wet myself! I usually end up wearing compression shorts under regular shorts just to absorb the sweat.

i only wear underwear/compression shorts under jogging shorts, same is true when I lift now. You only have to catch it between the barbell and you one time to not do that again
  • I was wondering the same thing! I wear underwear under all my workout shorts, except in compression shorts (only wear those when working out at home). I agree w/ the other ladies saying they wear it to absorb sweat.

I don't normally, but i did get some minor chaffing form the seams in the lining on my last long run. I going to monitor that and I might try my boxer briefs under.

I don't mean to laugh at your discomfort but the fact that you said you are going to "monitor" the chafing seriously made me laugh out loud!

Sometimes I do. When I wear my running skorts I tend not to because that's too much fabric. My girl likes to breathe. LOL:blushing:

I don't, and I don't care how it looks when I am done. If I look like I peed myself, so be it.

I consider the liner underwear. I don't care if my shorts are wet when I'm done. You're supposed to sweat.

I am definitely in the same boat as the OP, I wear the undies because I sweat A LOT! I will forever be envious of people who can got for quick jog on their lunch break or bicycle to work. Well, I guess I could do that but I doubt that anyone would be too thrilled with the big sweaty puddles I'd leave behind.

I wear underwear under my Under Armour basketball shorts which I walk/jog in. I like my shorts long. I used to wear Under Armour compression shorts under my biking shorts, but not any more, because they have a large pad in the crouch. Too difficult to get back up  after I have taken a pee break on my ride...at a restroom facility, of course.

I LOVE my Brooks running shorts with their built in liner. Super comfy!!!!! No need to wear unders with them.

I've tried it both ways... preference is with a good pair of boxer briefs. more supportive, keeps the shorts from riding up, etc etc.

OK-so my next run will be without the unders and I will see how it goes. Always up for something new!

As a bloke I wear briefs when I run to erm....hold things in place.

On long runs (10 miles+) I've gotten bad chaffing so I use seamless lycra running shorts. I wear these underneath my regular shorts as otherwise people would point and laugh and say mean things about my willy which would probably make me cry which in turn would ruin my pace. It's a guy thing.

Holy crap! I never thought to go running without panties on! Now that's going to be a new experience lol.

I do not. If I want to wear them again for whatever reason then I wear a thong but that rarely occurs. It's just one less thing to "distract" me while I run! haha
