Has anyone had any troubles with their reebok HRM? I've had mine since about May and the last week or so it hasn't been working right. Last week at the gym it wasn't reading my heartbeat for like the first several minutes I had it on and the first couple minutes on the treadmill. Once it did start working, it occasionally read 0 for heart rate (am I dead?) I think it did this one other day, or at least took a long time to get going.

Yesterday it never worked....it showed a heart rate for about a minute (while I wasn't even on my bike) and then nothing again....I rode almost 50 minutes and it says I didn't burn anything. I've got it pretty tight, I put water on it before using it. I am ashamed to admit I haven't cleaned the chest strap yet though :blushing: could that be it.....enough dried sweat built up that it can't get a good reading? I am going to try cleaning it tonight before my ride, how do I do it, just lightly with soap and water?

Could it be the battery dying in the chest strap??

I have the same problem, and I think its just the brand. I doesn't happen all the time (which is why I haven't gotten a different one) but once in a while I'll look at my watch and my heart rate will be like 264 and then immediately drop to 0. :noway:

Also, I don't wear it to the gym anymore because it picks up other HRMs around me.

I guess the extra money for a better model might in this case pay off! :grumble:

Yeah mine does that too, it will say in the 200's and then drop to either zero or something low like 78. I was afraid of the fact that I might just need to get a Polar or something:grumble:

It got good reviews and Reebok should be a good brand, grrrr. Oh and I did clean it and still no dice.

The same thing happened to me, and I clean mine daily and also put in a new battery. I ended ordering a Timex from Target.com, and I LOVE it. It's made for a woman, so the watch is nice and petite, and I'm finding my calorie burn is higher now because it's accurately reading the whole time. I didn't want to buy a Polar for the reason that I'd have to send it in to get the battery changed.

How long did you have yours when you changed the battery? I've only had mine 5 months or so. Shouldn't there be a low battery indicator?
