Question about measurements

Hey everyone. I'm pretty new here, so hi, I'm Emily :) My question is: how should I expect my measurements to change compared to my weight? I last took measurements on July 11, and have lost 6 pounds since then. I know they always say not to focus on the scale, but on the measurements. Well, my measurements have hardly changed since then. Is that normal, to have some stay exactly the same and some to change by 0.5-1 inch? I'm 5'11.

Hi Emily, I measure only my waist and have done since I started. I use scales too. At the beginning, scales moved but waist barely. Towards the middle of my weight loss tho (72lbs down now) I was glad I measures waist because sometimes the scales didn't move but waist did an I began to c a pattern... When waist went down scales would eventually follow as long as I continued doing what I was doing n it's like a little kid waiting for Christmas! Conversely, if I had a weight gain (I weigh/ measure daily) as long as waist same or moving I know no damage done. Just keep plugging away and either result is a result but they both (weighing and measuring) equally motivating... Propel u on! Well done so far!
