Vitamins

I feel like I should probably be taking some vitamins with my getting healthy kick and I need some suggestions:
I am 32 and horribly out of shape.
I get tired easily & find myself lacking energy.
I have horrible bone density.
I also wouldn't mind having something that would help curb my appetite so that I don't overindulge, but I know that is mostly willpower & not vitamin magic.

Can you cite those recent studies? Holistic approaches to enzymology?0 -

You mean vitamin supplements when you are on well structured nutrition plan are unnecessary, not vitamins don't really do anything for you. I guess that is what you mean because I can think of lots of diseases caused by vitamin deficiency.
And an over abundance of vitamins are sent straight down the toilet in your wee.0 -

Except for some micros and fat soluble vitamins (A-D-E-K), another reason why multivitamins are not that great. Without a medical or environmental condition it's hard to be deficient on those.0 -

I will be needing to supplement D after this miserable summer in the northern wastelands.0 -
I would suggest you get blood work done to find out exactly what you are deficient in. I get my blood work done yearly and adjust my vitamins as needed.
Vitamin D is probably one of the most important vitamins you can take. I get probably around 5,000 IU's a day of this. Calcium supplements are important too since you say you have bone density issues. Make sure the calcium supplements have vitamin D in them as well otherwise your body will not absorb the nutrients. CoQ10 is important, omega 3's, low dose aspirin (if you're not allergic to aspirin), daily multi.
Regardless of what people say you should take you really should get blood work done first.0 -
Have you discussed this with a doctor? Blood work would solve this questions for you easily. You should especially ask the doctor to check your Vitamin B12 (for fatigue) and Vitamin D (for calcium absorption) levels.0

Go to your doctors/nutritionist and have your blood tested. Then follow your doctors instructions. Some people don't need vitamins. Most people do. Getting your body running at 100% is a massive help to loosing weight.0
