First things first- I work in an office, alone. The past few weeks have been fairly slow, and it's Ramadan, so i'm fasting. I get in to work at about 10 o'clock.
Everyday, it seems as though when the clock hits 2:00 PM I start to get lethargic, irritable, exhausted. Emotionally and physically. The current stress level isn't even high. At this point, I have 3 and a half more hours of work to endure. Everyday seems like an endless struggle. It would make sense if I got this feeling around 4 or 5, but three more hours of this just seems like too much to handle.

Also, when I say I feel sluggish and irritable, I mean it! Not even vague fatigue, but genuine "I can't keep my eyes open, I need four cups of coffee or I won't survive," tired.
I know i'm probably not the only one with this problem. It's Ramadan, so I can't have any power snacks or drinks. Since i'm working alone I can't leave the office for a quick walk or anything.

Any suggestions?

I'm not familiar with the 'rules' for fasting. But you can have coffee and not a protein drink?

Is your office private? You say you can't leave, but can you stand up and do some exercises (a few jumping jacks, desk pushups, march in place, etc.)?

Haha, I can't have coffee. I was trying to explain how I feel thoroughly.
    Sorry.

I would say definitely increase your water intake, turn on the music, and get up and dance around a bit!

I'm not positive, but I don't think you can have any liquids, can you? But I agree, turn on the music and get your boogie on!

Have you considered higher carb foods when you can eat. I know marathon runners top up on them because they are supposed to release their energy slower. Usually I'd suggest pasta and the like but I'm not sure about a before sunrise high carb meal :/

well I mean to state the obvious you are extremely hungry.....
I am not trying to comment on anyones religious anything, but it is just not generally healthy to not eat. your body is just telling you this.

I was trying to say this delicately, too. I do not understand religions that inflict this sort of strictness on humanity. (and I was raised a Catholic, so had my own set of strict rules to follow as a young person, which I do not follow anymore.)

However, I admire those who are able to follow such restrictions in their lives. It is a test of character.

I completely disagree. Unless your pasta is whole-grain, it is not a complex carb, and you will end up being hungry sooner. I would go the opposite route, and fill up on protein, fruits & veggies.
