Getting myself back after C-section

Does anyone have any advice on how to get back into shape after a c-section? I just had my little girl on October 3 and am feeling pretty good. Obviously I have to take it slow at first but was wondering what other people did! I have a Wii Fit, if that helps!

Yoga is fantastic, but avoid the tummy work. The stretching is great and gets the blood going! The relaxation doesn't hurt either.....
I"ve had 4 c sections, most recent one was in April...I've been doing yoga for a few months now and I may not have lost weight, but I feel strong.
Best of luck to you!0 -
Congratulations on your little girl, she was born on my 21st birthday!! :bigsmile:0

My advice is to take it slowly. I started too soon after my most recent section, and I paid for it by being very sore for about a week. Definitely wait until your six week check up to do too much.0

I completely could not agree more. After my second c-section, I thought I felt GREAT. So I started working out...ended up in the ER bleeding like crazy, having to have ANOTHER surgery because I ripped out some stitches! Not good!0 -
Yeah for Libra's:flowerforyou: She was born the day after my 50th Birthday0

Thanks everyone! I'll avoid the abs exercises!
I'm getting so antsy! I just want to get going again!0 -
I've had 2 and each time started back after my 6 wk clearance from my OB. I have a gym membership so YMMV. I usually start by walking and doing some weights and keep increasing it. At this point I'm 1 1/2 years from my second c-section and feel good-just trying to get the last few lbs off! The wii active would be a great starting place too-it's got a nice group of exercises without any strictly crunches etc that would be hard-and is about 20-30 min depending on which program you pick. You can use the wii fit balance board with it. Congrats!0
