Breakfast ideas??

I need to cut down on my carbs and eat more protein. For breakfast at work I typically eat half a wheat bagel with peanut butter. I admit i'm a picky eater, but I need some new options. I like yogurt but it often has a lot of sugar and i dont find it too filling. Like eggs, but i'm told to only eat a couple/week. Any ideas for low carb breakfasts to fix at work and eat at my desk?

It depends on how much time you have and when you can eat in between. I LOVE my breakfast smoothies that I make in my blender. I get ALL of my fruits (and even a veggie) out of the way with just breakfast. It holds me over longer than I expect, and at least until an appropriate snack time.

    I blend:
    a peach
    blueberries
    blueberries
    a banana
    spinach
recently I added a kiwi fruit, b/c they've been on sale at my grocery store.

and ICE... spinach sounds weird, but the friuts really blend in the flavor. I don't add anything, just have a full serving of all of these. I AM hungry about 3 hours later, but am able to have either a 100 calorie sandwich thin with peanut butter by that time, or an early lunch and a 100 calorie sandwich thin with peanut butter in the afternoon...
  • For breakfast i usually eat cereal(: like the special K and stuff(: ORRRR i whip up some egg whites and change it up; one day i'll add a litttttle bit of cheese or just ketchup hha along with one whole grain waffle. Oatmeal is good too especially since I serve myself 1/2 of the actual full serving cause it's really filling for me.
As for ideas you can try is eating whatever choice of yogurt you and add berries with a fiber-rich cereal!! (:

I usually go for either egg whites with toast or oatmeal in the morning. Always accompanied by a side of fruit, of course. There's a lot of room for variation just with the oatmeal, as well. You can put different fruits or nuts in it, or make it with milk vs. water. I like to add a little pureed pumpkin with pumpkin pie spice and heat it up with soy milk. Super delicious and still very healthy and low-calorie. The egg whites are fantastic just as is with maybe some chives or dill if I'm feeling feisty ;p

Ditto on smoothies. My current favorite is 1 banana, 1 cup chopped kale, and 1 cup almond milk or regular milk. I also like Thomas' 100 calorie english muffins that I pair with either PB or a combination of 1 egg, chicken sausage, and bell peppers (I scramble the egg in a cup, add sausage and peppers, microwave for 1 minute).

I'm a huge fan of the southwestern flavor egg beaters. Plus you can totally scramble them up the night before and then put them in a container for a quick reheat in the morning. But they take less than 1 min to scramble up on the stove in the a.m. I usually have them paired with turkey sausage.

I don't know how to post photos on the message boards but here is a link to photo of my breakfast this morning.

By whom? Most people can eat at least one a day. If you're really worried about cholesterol, go for egg whites.

^^^^ This!!! Smoothies in the morning is the best!!!

My fave is 3/4 lb spinach, 1 banana, 3/4 cup blueberries, 1 cup soy milk, 5 ice cubes, 2 tbsp flax seed, splash vanilla and dash of cinnamon. I would start out with less spinach and slowly working yourself up to more spinach. It's shockingly delicious and a super low calories. Plus you've got a huge start in your veggie intake.

I used to eat eggs almost everyday, I've been trying to change it up lately so I've been having fruit for breakfast. I have 1 cup containers and I mix up the fruit I put in them usually strawberries and pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe, basically what ever is fresh. Saves me a ton of time not having to prepare breakfast and if I'm rushed I can take it and eat at my desk.

This tends to be a high sugar breakfast but personally I don't count the sugar in fruit. I've been loosing weight this way, I guess when that stops or slows I'll reevaluate.

This. The cholesterol in egg yolks is "good cholesterol" mainly anyway.

I have 3 whole eggs every morning and have done for over a year. Sometimes it's 2 or 4, add a little skimmed milk and it's nice and fluffy. I usually have it scrambled or I make an omelette and add bell peppers, onions and mushrooms. I usually have reduced salt and sugar baked beans, turkey sausage and either some trimmed bacon, some chicken or I make myself a hash brown.
