Last week, I posted that I was "not convinced" re: eating the calories back as I had gained that week after trying it for 2 weeks in a row (and had lost consistently prior to that).
I had said this week, I would only eat "part" of them back and see how it goes.....SUCCESS!!! I lost 1.6 lbs this week so am planning on continuing that plan. Just thought I'd let you know since so many of you had posted about it last week!!!

Great work! It's really hard to estimate exercise calories so it sounds like you found your number!0

Do you have a heart rate monitor (one with a chest strap??) that will help you get a more accurate calories burned.. I use a Polar FT60 and eat back 85% of my burned calories, leaving 15% for error... Best of Luck...0

I just ordered a HR monitor...but not with a chest strap.....so we'll see if it helps keep better track of calories burned! My base HR is very low 48-50 so I do think the exercise calories in the data base would probably be high for me....gonna figure out how to use it in the next week....will let you know how it compares!
Am very happy to be going in the right direction again. Have been working out like a banshee!!! LOL ....and the weight loss definitely slows down the closer to goal we get!0 -
More than likely what that means is that your calories burned exercising are simply being overestimated, or that your calorie base is too high.0

Don't think it's my calorie base as I'm set at 1200 calories....but agree it may be calories burned are overestimated....hopefully the HR monitor will help with that!0 -
Yep, I never got why people were so adamant that you have to eat exercise calories back. I think as long as youre not under eating, and are getting enough protein and fat, you should be fine. it's not really so much about calories if you're trying to maintain muscle/stay healthy.0
