Can't seem to burn as many calories as everyone else...

Hey, so this may be a silly thought, but I can't seem to burn more than 300-400 calories in a given 60-90 min workout. This is including Insanity, p90x, whatever. I'm not slacking, I WORK. HARD. It's just a little discouraging to look at my home page and see people burning twice what I do going for a brisk 45 min walk. Any ideas on how maybe I can improve/change/BEEF UP my calorie burn?

you're doing great at 300-400 calories/hour if you're a small person (which you look to be from your profile pic!) people who weigh more do burn more calories doing the same activities for the same amount of time. it has to do with their body using more energy to move their greater mass during exercise. MFP calculates calorie burn partially based on weight. you're not doing anything wrong!0

It doesn't mean ur not working hard. It's just because ur not carrying around a lot of extra weight and u appear to be in great shape.
I burn about 1200 calories for a 3 mile walk/jog mix but Im carrying around an extra 100 pounds or so compared to most people.
You could add a weighted vest to ur workout to make it more intense.0 -
I am considerably heavier than you, so that explains a lot of why I'd burn more, but you didn't mention whether or not you use a HRM. My HRM says I burned considerably more than MFP estimates. If you don't have one, I'd recommend it for a more accurate total.0

Gain 100 pounds and your calorie burn will go way up.
Seriously, those who burn a lot are probably male or weigh a lot more than you.0 -
I agree with the other 2 posters, the more weight you are carrying around the more calories you burn for doing the same activity. when you are carrying around an extra 100 lbs you will burn more calories doing the same activities. If you want to burn more use a weighted vest or carry a small child while walking fast , or push a stroller uphill fairly fast, you get the idea this will help you to burn more calories.By the way you look like you are in great shape, just keep up with the workouts and remember you are getting healthier and more fit0

You could put on weight and then you'd burn more!
Don't waste time stressing about what other people do - just enjoy your exercise and the fact that you are getting healthier.0 -
The more fit you are the harder it is to burn calories. By the looks of you I wouldn't worry to much what others are burning as you look like you're doing a great job! If you don't already get yourself a heart rate monitor with chest strap and use that during your workouts. The higher you get that pumping, generally speaking, the more calories you'll burn.0

The less you weigh the less you burn. When I was big I could burn 800 cal in an hour doing a slow workout (according to my heart rate monitor) now I have to do 90 min or more of intense exercize to get to 700.
