Do you find yourself feeling fuller quicker?

Wow. I just got back from lunch and feel uncomfortably stuffed. I had a BLT and small cup of bean soup (large amount of calories planned for!). I feel like I just ate a full Thanksgiving meal! Several months ago this would have been a small meal for me! Is this all in my mind?

    Yesterday I had that problem.

I perceive that as a good thing.
  • no it's not in your head, well maybe a little, but not really. When I say maybe a little I mean the fact that you have taught yourself to stop eating sooner when you are satisfied. I have noticed the same thing. I eat at a local sandwhich place a lot and I used to eat a wrap, salad, fruit and still be hungry. Now I can't finish a wrap and soup. Congrats on this mini success.

I completely know what you are talking about! I was once told that when you reduce your calorie intake, over a period of time your stomach gets used to it and kinf of "shrinks" back to a size that is adequate for the amount of food you consume. When you increase your calories/food amount your stomach expands and you won't feel as full when you eat.

I'm pretty sure it went something like that.... anyone want to correct me?

But, hey it feels great doesn't it??? I love that feeling! I love feeling satisfied and knowing I didn't have to pig out to feel that way!!
  • I've notcied the same thing lately. Its not taking as much food to feel full. I don't mind at all!!

I think the above poster got it right. As you eat less your stomach will shrink back to its "correct" size.

    Keep up the good work!

haha that just happened to me. I had a greek salad and a lean cuisine quesadilla, which would usually leave me hungry and I feel super stuffed. Guess this is a good sign tho, right?

i think its due to our inner stomachs shrinking as when change our eatting habits to smaller portions eaten more frequently.....unlike before i know personally i used to eating 2-3very large meals....and it expanded the inner lining of the stomach.....atleast thats my theory lol
