When it asks for your activity level and it lists typical jobs, does it mean just your normal activity level not counting how often you work out or is it just based on your activity level everyday minus workouts?

MFP will not calculate in your exercise automatically anyway.
When you exercise, log it, and you'll notice your calorie allowance goes up.0
