I have been on MFP for a week now sticking to a 1200 calorie diet. Starting at 228.4 pounds 5'7". Female.

I was at my best at 160 pounds but gained over 50 when my husband passed away in 2006.

I have struggled all my life with weight and have decided it is time to take this seriously.

I am looking for buddies to motivate me and for diary reviews.

I quit smoking 7 months ago and have just recently since starting cut out pop.

I have also just recently started incorporating exercise. Jillian Micheals Front Side.

Struggling with eating back my calories burned as I usually exercise after supper.

I'm sorry for your loss. I looked at a few days of your journal you're doing a great job congrats on your 1.8lb loss, I do have a couple of tips for you.
Try to avoid eating to many processed foods, Applying the 80/20 rule has been a huge help for me. Try and eat clean about 80% of the time and 20% of the time throw in some pastas or breads etc.. It's gonna allow you to eat more of the foods your body needs while keeping your calories and sodium down.
Include lean protein in every meal including snacks.
I see your a coffee drinker and like me you like to have creamer ,I love my coffee and I really like it with cream but i HATE drinking my calories. Ive started making it a little weaker and using flavored liquid sweeteners, i use ones sweetened with stevia or just plain old extracts like you use in baking. They flavor the coffee nicely without adding to many extra calories.
As for eating you calories back, if you have extra at the end of the day from working out you can roll those over to tomorrow, It will end up working itself out come the end of the week.
Congrats on your quitting smoking keep up your good work!

    Thank you so much!

I am actually on day 2 of drinking my coffee with splenda. Yuck! I am not sure I like it. I did not track my coffee with my splenda as I am trying to drink it black. Yuck again! lol
