Keep in mind that it's a lifestyle change and not a diet.
Make small changes and keep adding to them. I slowly changed high fat, high calorie foods for healthier choices. For example: change whole milk to skim milk, starated eating less red meat and more lean meat, eating more vegies and fruits, etc.
