Basically, it's food prepared yourself without adding salt or over seasoning (check your seasonings, most are loaded with salt).

If eat canned goods, look for low or no sodium added versions.

Almost any preprepaired food is going to have a lot of salt.

Eat as clean as possible to lower the amount of sodium. Prepackaged, premade, frozen foods are loaded with sodium. Dressings, sauces, condiments, etc are as well.

If you eat fresh foods you will greatly limit the sodium

I have found the only way that I can keep my sodium in check is to cook and prepare most that I eat...no eating foods outta a box or frozen food section...and limiting fast foods....not really an easy way- sorry. But it can been done!! Love, a former sodium ADDICT!

Also, keep away from processed meats such as hot dogs, bologna, salami and sausages. Watch out for the frozen meals, they are loaded with sodium. Eat lots of veggies and prepare your own chicken or beef yourself and use spices to make it to your liking. Go to skinny taste website and they have tons of recipes that are great. (www.skinnytaste.com) Hope this helps you. Also, you need to drink fluids during the day.
