Get fitted for proper running shoes... But Where?

I keep seeing posts for newbie runners (like me) to get fitted for shoes. I hate to be clueless, but I am. Can I get that done at Footlocker, Finish Line, or other shoe type stores in the mall? I see people saying to go to a Running Specialty store, but I don't know where one would be or the name of one to google and see where the closest one is.
I've only been running for a week and so far my Nike Trainers are doing the job, but I'm in the C25K program and I haven't hit the full on runs yet and know when that time comes I don't want to have pains that I could have avoided with proper fitting shoes.
Thanks in advance for any advice. I do appreciate it!

No definitely not Footlocker or Finish Line. I'd say don't go anywhere you'd find at a mall.
The one I go to is local, but Fleet Feet is a chain I think and you could see if there's one near you.
You should google "running specialty stores near _____" and see what you come up with.0 -
Go to the Runners World site and ask in the forums if anyone knows any locations close to you.
Most of them aren't going to be chains, so it's difficult to suggest a good place without knowing where you live.0 -
Good to know about Mall stores. I'm in Indiana and Indianapolis or Cincinnati, OH are probably the closest larger cities I could drive to.0

Just did this and found one. Thanks so much. I don't know why I didn't do that to begin with.0 -
I think when I was looking for running stores in my area I just googled speciality running stores. You should be able to come up with something.0

Mayberry - I would try Yelp.com
seach for running stores nearby. I would do the search for you - but I don't know where you live

Blue Mile in Carmel is good
Or Tri-N-Run if you are near Lafayette.
There is also a running store in Kokomo if you are closer to there.....not sure the name.0
