I have had my Polar FT4 for about 3 months, maybe not even that. Lately, during my workouts there will be brief periods where the transmitter seems to cut out for a few minutes and then restart. I usually will use it for 2hrs a day, 4-5 days a week, and the website says you can expect to have a year and a half or two years of battery life of the transmitter. Does this mean that the battery is already on the fritz?

    I don't think it's a battery issue.
I think the chest strap my just not be right. I had that issue before, I tightened the strap a little more, made sure it sits completely under the bra band and since then I had no more problems with a lost heart rate.
  • I've had the same issues! I got mine about 2 months ago and everything has been working perfectly until a couple days ago. I bought mine from BodyTronics. I usually just wash my strap in the sink because I was scared to wash it in the washing machine but when I called to ask about my issue they told me to try washing it in the machine (in a delicate bag).

I just tried their suggestion and used it today on my 2 mile walk/jog & it still is on the fritz. It will say I am "not in zone" basically my whole workout.. as a matter of fact, my heart rate was decreasing as I was walking! Makes no sense.. I wear the strap very tight and in the right position. Like I said before, I never had an issue before and I haven't done anything different.

I am so upset because I absolutely LOVE it.

    Any advice?
