New tattoo's and working out

So, I am getting a new piece on my ribcage. I got my other tattoo's years ago before I took up working out 3+ times a week.
My question is, after getting the piece should I take a few days off of working out or will sweat affect it at all? For some reason I am under the impression that a fresh tattoo mixed with my beastly sweats at the gym don't go hand in hand.

I just lather up with lotion, so it wont sting from the sweat, and go for it.0

I put my lotion on my tattoo before going to the gym and it healed up fine and then I just washed in the shower and put a light amount of lotion on after and it healed fine with no problems.0

I think it could be uncomfortable. Also, depending on what you do, it could make the clothing garment rub against it. So I'd recommend covering it with plastic wrap while you're working out.0

Had a tattoo done last Saturday and went to the gym on Monday. By the end it was stinging because of sweat but it didn't affect the healing0

Be careful not to rub it on any of the equipment...staph infections are predominant in gyms. I've worked out a the following day after a tattoo and no issues, just keep it clean.0

Do not cover it in lotion this actually is really bad and can pull ink out of your tattoo other then that as long as your gym clothes don't rub on it it will be fine yes it might burn a bit but it will heal fine0

Oh and wear as little clothing as possible to minimize chaffing...0

this is so false, you need to moisturize your tattoo!!! it is bad to put vaseline because that seeps colour, that is why a lot of artists use the petroleum jelly during the inking session because it is so absorbant, but after it is done and bad idea. you NEED to lotion, it keeps tattoos fresh and vibrant!!!....but everyone i know takes care of their tats differently and this is my opinion.0 -
i would lather it in lotion and not let it penetrate the tattoo so that it doesn't dry out during the session. and wear a snug shirt on it, or no shirt0

I have several tattoos and yes lotion is a must but not covering it in lotion as this makes the tattoo sweat and ink pulls out yes the use a and d when tattooing you but that's also why they tell you to wash your tattoo very well about an hour after your finished getting it and then leave it uncovered so yes lotion is good but don't use to much0 -

Everyone with a tattoo thinks they know and state it as a fact. I practice dry healing with mine. However, when I workout, I lather up with lotion so it doesn't sting.0
