I've been focusing more on lifting lately and slacked off on the running. I did 15 minutes of HIITs last night on the treadmill and have some killer shin splints today. Is this definitely a result of my shoes? I've lost track of how many miles I have on them but I got them about a year ago (I know the average is 6 months to toss them but as I said, I'm not too focused on running now). I'm also not the best about warming up, stretching and then running.
And should I do the elliptical tonight like I had planned or will that just aggravate them more?
