How would i get rid of this? (pictures inside)

So i began working out (mostly cardio) last year or more before, i kinda lost track but i know it was before senior year of HS, to lose some weight. So, i started doing some insanity and finished the program and i lost a lot of weight (around 260-199). Then, i stopped working out for the year of senior year thinking i was satisfied with this but i gained some weight again but not too much, just a little bit. After gaining a little bit of weight i started doing P90x a month ago (im on month 2) and i have seen some results though not noticeable ones like a more muscular physique but i have felt stronger. So ive been checking every morning to see if my body has changed or not and i noticed that i have gotten stretchier than before. My belly used to be pretty bouncy and jigglt but now it's like a sad face, it's sagging. Im not sure how to get rid of it, is it fat or skin? (I weigh 186 now)

That looks like loose skin. Sorry to say you might need skin removal surgery to lose that, but don't give up on fitness! Fitness is MOST important. There is a show on TV, I can't remember the name of it right now, that covers folks that loose a lot of weight over the course of a year and at the end, if they lose enough weight, they are evaluated for skin removal surgery. When they get it done, it's a big improvement physically and mentally.

You are young, maybe the skin will get better over time, but if you have an opportunity to get a consult with a plastic surgeon, maybe they can confirm your personal situation.

    BEST of LUCK!

OP: If you can pinch an inch, it's not skin. Pinch the back of your hand--that's about how thin skin should be. You're a young dude. Lift heavy, drop your bodyfat % and forget about needing surgery.
  • sorry Sug.
you can be super fit.... and have awesome abs, but if you've got loose skin, it ain't going away. its not cheating if you are fit and have surgery to remove extra skin.
if you've gotten to your goal weight, maintained it, and don't have a bunch of fat.... it probably isn't gonna bounce back. some of us aren't that lucky. me included. but i did read somewhere that it make take 6-12 months for skin to shrink to where its gonna stay.

I'm not sure how to drop body fat..should I do more cardio and once that lowers the %, I can move on to lifting some heavier weights?

Lift heavy now, clean out your diet and don't do cardio beyond the two-three days a week in the p90x program. Looking at your pics, any more cardio and you'll be cardioing your muscles away. Don't do it. Stick with compound movements in your leg/back days: squats, deadlifts, bent rows. When you go heavy on compound movements, and eat right you build muscle and that gives your fat tissue a new surface to sit on. Get some sheets of muscles going in your back and legs so some of your loose skin has a place to go.

Don't think this guy built his "after" body with doing more cardio:

Since I'm about to leave home for college, what do you suggest I do to eat right while on a tight budget.

Assuming you got access to a kitchen...chicken breasts are cheap, so are eggs and canned tuna. Good cheap carb sources: oatmeal, brown rice and dried beans. If fresh veggies are too expensive, get frozen ones and stock up. Buy fruits and veggies when they're in season-- they're a lot cheaper and will give you greater nutritional value per calorie than say juice. Shop at the fringes of the grocery store i.e. produce, meat, dairy, and occasionally buy prepackaged stuff from the center aisles. The more packaged and processed the food, the more expensive it is.

Canned salmon is perfectly fine. Your body isn't going to freak over the 49 cals and magically pile on pounds :p. You do want to make sure you're getting at least 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass at minimum...even on days you don't lift. Your muscles repair themselves when you rest and will need the protein.

i looked around some bodybuilding forums and i read that creatine mono would be a great way to get more reps into my workout and increase my results...should i try it out
