I just had an interesting realization...

I've had disordered eating issues since high school. My lowest weight was 114 lbs and it did not look good on me. Of course, at the time I thought I still looked fat. Because I basically was. Just fat and bones, no muscle.

Well unfortunately that disorder turned into binge eating. But the lone good thing that happened during that time was that I discovered lifting, and some of the weight that I gained back during those 3 years of bingeing was muscle mass. Now, my lean body mass ALONE is 114 lbs! Whereas that was the weight of MY ENTIRE BODY before - about 4 years ago now. If that's not cool then I don't know what is. I'm currently working on losing some of excess the fat that I've acquired thanks to my binges, but I'm glad to know that it wasn't ALL fat that I gained.

I know this is a weird post because it's like "yay something good came of my eating disorder," because eating disorders are a terrible thing, but if I can find a silver lining in all this mess, I'll take it.

I was thinking the same thing, weight lifting, might help other people who are not satisfied with their body. It's hard not to like muscle !!!
