Meds are about 80 percent responsible for my gain. Who else here has had a bad experience with weight gain and medications?

I'm not looking for support because I've since changed medicines and am losing weight now, but I'm curious about your experiences. Do share.

I'm on Carbimazole for hyperthyroidism. The expectation from taking it is weight gain. I read through numerous studies which showed this was the case and read god knows how many personal accounts where this has happened. When I read all this I got so upset because I worked hard to loss the weight I had lost already.

But, I didn't/haven't yet had any weight gain from taking it and have maintained since starting on it.

Personally I don't think it should be a forgone conclusion that weight gain will occur with a particular medication, this study into weight gain with Carbimazole showed that people basically gained weight whilst on treatment simply because they kept on eating at a higher level even though their metabolic rate was reduced.

Obviously I don't know what medication you were/are on etc so this is all my own experience

*raises hand* Anxiety and depression medications I take cause weight gain AND increased appetite. Which is just annoying because that causes anxiety and depression >_< I have lowered my doses and it has helped some.
