Hello everyone,

I have in the last year put on nearly 2 stone in my last year of uni, its disgusting. Then when playing football 3 weeks ago i took a bad tackle and have soft tissue damage to my foot. I still am trying to loose weight though.

I have gone from 18st 1 to 17st 8 over a week, but i assume thats mainly water.

What i really truly need is help with my routine, exercises that will make me feel the burn which wont take a toll on my foot until its healed properly (3-4 weeks) and help me tear through the weight, i reall wan to look good by my graduation (17 sept)

Please note i will try anything no matter how hard it is to push myself i am extremely motivated.

this is what I currently do throughout the week:

food:

breakfast: actimel, boiled egg or cereal

lunch: some form of veg and white meat

dinner: pasta/ similar to lunch

Gym:

swim 4-5 times a week at a minimum of 30 lengths of a full size pool each time (breaststroke)

started weights again just basic biceps and chest workouts.

all suggestins are welcome,,

thanks for your time :)

Sorry to hear about your injury, depending on the type of soft tissue damage, you may be stuck for much heavy cardio work outside of swimming. Your legs are the biggest muscle group and make for the biggest cardio burns. But remember the saying, "you get fit in the gym and loose weight in the kitchen". Just watch what you are eating and you can still keep losing weight, but it will be through a diet controlled calorie deficit rather than being because you are just burning more than you normally eat.
When your foot gets back to being able to bear loads, you can start on a stationary bike and spin with a light load but a high cadence, trust me that will get the heart rate up and the burn going. You could then move to rowing machine as you can adjust the balance in the stroke between your good leg and the dodgy one, the rower is a great way to get a burn going.

I have the opposite problem, I tore both shoulders playing footy a couple of months ago and so every workout is a legs workout, I really miss doing upper body :-)

    Cheers

thanks a lot for that reply was really informative :),

yeah its riving me mad, years ago i lost 4 stone from crostraining an hour a day and weights an hour and the weight tore off, but i cant do that now and its driving me insane lol.

what about ab exercisies and fitness ball stuff? do you think that will help push it?

*also, is my breaststroke swimming doing much for my weight loss?

    thanks giuseppe
