I've never used them before and wondered if they were worth getting. My mileage is picking up as I'm training for a half marathon. Advise would be appreciated. Thanks! ....Happy running:bigsmile:

I guess this topic is not interesting enough for people to comment on.

I have some calf compression sleeves. I never noticed any difference while wearing them running but they do feel good afterwards during recovery. They also work pretty good in the winter for keeping my legs warm while running.

What is the reason you are wanting them? I, swear by mine! I got mine initially because I kept suffering from shin splints, and wearing the sleeves (usually after a run, not during) helped tremendously! I wear them a lot for recovery from long runs or hard speed workouts. They are amazing for recovery (for me.) I wore them during my marathon and I think they helped a lot, although I think I would like to switch to compression socks instead of sleeves for longer running. I think CEP compression socks would have better prevented the leg cramps I suffered at the end of my marathon. Anyways, I vote yes, yes, yes on compression sleeves (or socks.)

Well I heard about them but didn't know much about them. And my feet do feel the wear and tear. Next week I go up to 5 miles for my long run.

    Thanks

I have 2 pairs that I purchased b/c some friends and I wanted to wear matching socks for a 1/2 last year:smile: . Personally, I have never noticed a difference when wearing them. Maybe if I were running a marathon, it might be different. But, my long runs are usually btw. 8 and 14 miles every week anyway, so probably my body is just used to the distance. I can't imagine that they would be necessary for 5 miles, but try them and see if they work for you. I don't plan on buying anymore b/c to me they aren't worth the price especially when I didn't get any benefit out of using them.
  • It helps to increase blood flow and recover faster. You warm-up faster too. I've experienced no cramps with compression socks.

I love mine! I wear mine during and after. I started wearing them to recover from an achilles injury and they helped me protect it and recover faster. I felt like they act like an exoskeleton (during) . Recently I stopped wearing them - and I regret that becaues I just injured myself  but now I will not make that mistake again. I like CEP the best becaue they are tight and not too warm.

I used them mostly when I'm trail running. I call them my poison oak protectors. I also don't like the feeling of grasses and underbrush whipping against my shins so I like them for that too. Can't say I feel any of the purported benefits but if they are there that's an added bonus along with the things I do use them for.

I have the sleeves, wear them both during and post run, love them! Would definitely consider the socks too, but liked the idea if sleeves better.

Thanks for the info! It seems like more people like them and recommend them than not.:drinker:
