Low carb info needed

Hi all,
i've been doing this MFP thing for a while now and prior to that i followed slimming world.
In the past I've noticed that my weight loss improves if I low carb (not no carb) but was wanting to find out what is considered as low carb (how many grams)? My weekly losses are very slow and it does get disheartening so even a good a pound a week would be an improvement.
I was on 1450 cals per day but have recently changed it to 1280 to see if that helps. I exercise at least 5 times a week for about 1 1/2 hours each session mixing cardio and strength training.
I currently weight 198 pounds so boy i've got a long wa to go. This year so far all i've lost is 24 pounds so i def need some good advice. I love veg, salad some fruits and all fish, chicken etc.
I would like eventually to get to around 150lbs.
Thankyou in anticipation. Oh and just to add I'm trying to increase strength training and lifting slowly ;-)

I low-carb to help with my PCOS/IR and generally keep to under 20/30g of carbs per day. I would highly recommend reading the Atkins website/books if you're going to low-carb that low...there's so much info which, I feel, is both very helpful and vital!0

For most people, ketogenesis begins at under 100 grams of carbs and gets more pronounced the lower you go. You probably want to experiment for awhile to see what amount works best for you overall.0

It does depend, it varies from person to person. I find my body works best at around 100g carbs per day (and by "around" I mean anywhere between 80 and 150)0
