jillian michaels says to burn more calories than you eat. ive also been hearing alot about eating more to weigh less. i heard you should eat more than your bmr, which mine is 1380 i think, and less than your tdee, which mine was in the 1700s. so right now im trying to eat 1500 cals a day, sometimes its high. i try not to eat back my exercise cals unless i really cant beat the craving. im walking about a mile a day right now, which is more active than ive ever been. but im not seeing any results and all this talk is really confusing. can anyone experienced please lay this out in layman's terms, cause i really have no idea what im doing. i thought it would be simple, make healthier choices and get active, but all these numbers have me so confused.

There are several threads explaining why you should eat back your exercise calories.
if you set up your profile properly, the site should gives you more or less the amount you should eat including your exercise calories. It calculates everything rather well -- after using it a little bit you can decide to adjust up or down your cals. You should not over restrict yourself - not because of some idea around "starvation mode" - that is BS.

But because as you exercise and reduce calories at the same time you want to get enough nutrients - otherwise you are abusing your body; it's all about gaining in health, not just losing the pounds.

Also watch your macros (protein, carbo, fat).

    Hope thsat helps!
