Quick Weight Loss and Excess Skin

I am just wondering if anyone has experienced a large quick weight loss (150-200 pounds) and had lots of problems with excess skin. I am only down 35 pounds but am wondering if losing it faster or going slower will make a difference in excess skin. That is my biggest concern at this point.

I'm also somewhat concerned (but not enough to stop losing - I'd rather be floppy and thin than tight skinned and fat), I'll share what I've read. I've read it can take quite a while for loose skin to resolve, and I think no matter what rate you lose it can, but does not always, shrink with you. It seems to depend on the person. Mine did not shrink substantially at all from 265lb to 212lb and I've been close to the weight I am now for half a year (I got frustrated and gave up for a little while). Now I look piles of small potatoes wrapped in white latex.
I've read that if you get your bodyfat% low enough the skin will tighten up (<15% female, <10% male). I've also read that protein cycling can help skin tighten up from the body scavenging protein from the skin tissue, particularly with massage and scrubbing(to improve blood flow and slightly damage it). When my skin didn't shrink while I was losing before, I was pretty high protein. I've also read that exercise, HIIT, rebounding (mini trampoline) and weight lifting/strength training can help. I'm hedging my bets and trying all, but it could take several years - and even then, it might not work. I'm considering a savings account specifically for surgical help, and if it turns out I don't need or want it, then spending it on something else nice.0 -
Many of us have that same concern, my plan is to lose no more than 2lbs per week, when I get to a point that I dont mind what I see in the mirror I will switch to 1 pound per week. I am making sure to drink all my water and get plenty of exercise. I feel that will give my skin the best chance of bouncing back. I would rather take a full year to loose all my weight and bounce back then take 6 months and have regret. No matter what the outcome though, I think we can all agree, getting rid of the excess weight will be healthier in the long run. Good luck.0
