Shaking after a hard workout

During and after really intense workouts I start shaking, kind of like when your blood sugars drop when you haven't eaten in a while. Is this normal? If I haven't eaten in awhile I'll have a snack before I work out (apple w/ string cheese, for example). And today I had a subway breakfast sammie w/ egg whites, ham and veggies about 2 hours before my workout. So I don't know how it would be low blood sugar.

Could be losing so much water (sweat) during these workouts. When you have too many electrolytes like salt and sugars and a not enough water, your muscles spasm or shake. The muscles contract through a chemical action. When there are a certain amount of electrolytes it crosses the threshold and causes your muscles to contract. So if you aren't already, make sure you have plenty of water during and after these exercises. Another solution that has helped a few people I have talked to is eating a banana after a vigorous workout. Hope this helps!0

It could be that you need to eat or you need something specific, like potassium, or just fluid.
However, some of us just shake. I do, my dad does. I try to be prudent but I'm still going to shake. So if you continue to shake and you've been drinking and eating as you should, it may not be something you have to worry about.0 -
I've had that feeling lots after a workout. I'll just eat an apple and that feeling goes away. It happens to me too even if I've eaten previous to working out.0

Maybe it's not anything to do with your blood sugar but rather your muscles twinging after a hard workout?0

It is your blood sugar dropping, have an apple, raisins or ripe banana, chocolate always works haha.

Try sipping on a recovery drink during your workout, toast with peanut butter is good before as is the banana mentioned. Try different things.0

If the workout is super intense it's probably muscle fatigue. That isn't a bad thing. It just means you've rocked it.0

If you aren't also feeling light headed or dizzy it may only be muscle spasms from the work out. If you are feeling dizzy or light headed, it may be a blood sugar issue. If it's blood sugar, try adding more protein to your pre-workout menu.0
