Which jam or preserves should I buy?

I'm on the market for a new jam or fruit preserve. I have Smucker's strawberry jelly now and it's way sweet and too gelatinous for my taste. I don't want to go sugar free, and I don't particularly like huge chunks of fruit in my spread. However, I am open to preserves if they are amazing  hehe I am kind of picky. My fam has always gotten Smucker's jam, but I was wondering if there was anything out there that actually tasted like fruit and not just sugar.

I read somewhere that Smucker's simply fruit was good...what would you guys recommend?

I use Polaner's, I have found it's the lowest in sugar grams.

I don't do Smuckers, they seem too commercial for me. I dont trust a company that uses high fructose corn syrup in their products.

I've liked Polaner's in the past but I just tried their strawberry preserves, the one with fiber added, and it's not good. It's got Splenda in it, and it tastes fake and gelatinous...I forget the name of the other brand I liked, I want to say it's something like Bonnie Mae...it's an 8 oz jar with a very simple label that looks handwritten. A little pricey, but good.

I use GOYA Guava Jelly.. I dont use a lot of it and I don't eat it frequently but when I have a craving for something sweet..it hits the spot..

My favorite it half an Arnold sandwich thin with a little guava jelly and a little cream cheese...SOOOO GOOOD!!!

I like Polaner's allfruit or Kroger brand Just Fruit spreads. Strawberry and black raspberry are my fav! My kids like grape.

I love Bonne Maman fruit preserves - they have various flavors (right now I have the "Four Fruits" in my fridge - cherry, strawberry, redcurrant and raspberry). I like this brand because it has no high fructose corn syrup. It's not really low-calorie or anything (50 calories per Tablespoon), but it's ingredients are simple which comes though in the taste.

That's the brand! "Bonnie Mae"? Wow, I was really off! :noway:

I love Eden Apple Butter - nothing in it but pure apples, so the calories are low. It's sweet, but not too sweet. Goes very nicely with some of the nut butters out there - almond, cashew, etc.

A little pricey, but I find it's so flavourful - especially with a really mild flavoured nut butter - that I don't use much.

I like the smucker's low sugar apricot preserves, or the orange marmalade. They actually have sugar and not HFCS. I don't eat jam very often--I go through short phases when I eat it a lot but right now I can't remember the last time I had some. Maybe tomorrow for breakfast!

I'm old school- I make my own-
I found a kind of pectin that requires no sugar for activation, so you can use honey, agave nectar or lower amounts of sugar if you choose and make your own jams and jellies. It is called Pomona Pectin
( universal pectin activated by calcium water) everything you need is in the box. So jams and jellies have the fruit listed as the first ingredient.

I recently made Orange -Cranberry Jam, Pineapple- Apricot, and Seedless Blackberry. I love the jam, because I choose the sweetness of it, and I end up eating primarily fruit instead of sugar. It's very easy to make and I'd be happy to share any recipes for those interested.
