I ran a new pb for a 5k race taday. I managed 27:03 (my previous best was 28:08).

Highlights:

Doing the distance without stopping even though I wanted to as it was so hot
Getting a PB
Getting a feeling for going out hard from the start and having nothing left at the end
Meeting a nice woman who was running with her rescue dog

Lowlights:

Being overtaken by a man running pushing a kid in a pram (not kidding, he hammered by me)
Being overtaken by a man with a wee westie dog (felt like giving up at that point)
Being overtaken by a kid that looked about 7
Having 2k left to run and being DONE but still keep running

I have a 10k in 4 weeks tomorrow. I think I will be happy with 75 mins

Once my 10k is over I think I will change my training an see if I can go under 25mins

Congratulations! I think one of your lowlights "Having 2k left to run and being DONE but still keep running" is more of a NSV - you kept running! Way to go!

    Thanks.

I told my wife about being smoked by a man pushing a pram and she just laughed at me

Has this happend to anyone else?
