Does Your Calorie Intake Fluctate Day-to-Day?

Does anyone else find, that on days you work out, you find it hard to reach your recommended calories, and on days you don't work out, you find it quite easy to go over?
Now, I am not hugely concerned about my calorie intake, as I personally feel that what is more important are the types of foods I am eating rather than being so focussed on the calories, but at the same time, I obviously do record them on here and do pay attention.
I work out 4 days a week usually for a total of 6 hours, doing bikram yoga. On my work out days I find it quite hard to reach even 1200 as I eat my three meals and usually one snack, and am full and satisfied. (And mfp even suggests I go up to 1600 on my Bikram days!)
Then on my break days, I find it easier to eat more carby food, and I always tend to go over.
Is this normal, does anyone else experience this as well? I am worried if my body is reacting to not getting enough calories on my work out days, so on my break days, it is like on over drive, hungry for nurishment....what does anyone think/know about this?
