this is a great site. one stop calorie and exercise logging. I am really starting to feel like this is a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet plan or exercise regimen.
these paragraphs below are responses to some of the leading blogs that i read today. i love how i found things to be moved, excited and inspired by!
i think compassion is a great lesson takeaway from our struggles with obesity. i know that even though i have always been in touch with feelings of sympathy and such that only now that i have been here, am i able to have such thorough compassion. Equanimity is one of the most sublime emotions of Buddhist practice. It is the ground for wisdom and freedom and the protector of compassion and love. While some may think of equanimity as dry neutrality or cool aloofness, mature equanimity produces a radiance and warmth of being. The Buddha described a mind filled with equanimity as “abundant, exalted, immeasurable, without hostility and without ill-will.”
and thats true beauty!
for me the idea of being hungry is overblown so much that i have grown to almost fear hunger like it would actually hurt. im trying to turn that around and learn to "sit with" or accept feeling hunger as healthy.(like you say)
its like this cool magic trick where the magician holds a lighter flame under his hand and the audience thinks its amazing that it didn't hurt. when he is asked how he does it he simply replies "the trick is NOT minding that it hurts!"
