Please Please Help Me! Hit the wall!

So, I have lost 10lbs since The beginning of July! I am doing p90x, I start July 23rd. I love it, its a great program, but im only on the 2nd week. I have only missed one work out in p90x, and that was yesterday. For whatever reason, I hit the wall and couldn't find it in me. This past week has been very hard to fight through the urge to do nothing, but i did the work outs. The thing is though i KNOW I didn't give it my all, so they were almost pointless because I could still breathe afterwards and wasn't sore, which to me means I didn't try hard enough from my complete sudden lack of energy.

I see the weight coming off, i feel it coming off, i feel smaller. I can already fit into some of my shorts I couldn't even button a month ago. Food is super easy to do, I'm staying at or under my goal no problem (1900), drinking lots of water and have completly adopted it not as a diet, but as my new way of eating.

But I just can't find it in me anymore to fight. For a good 2 weeks I was super super active with my MFP family, commenting, going on boards, etc., but now i just get on there, log my food, and don't have the energy to even say good job to all my wonderful MFP friends! I don't understand how I can do weeks of feeling happy, energetic, then just CRASH. I need help, motivation, tips, to get back on track. I should say that I do have depression and anxiety disorder, i refuse to take pills because I have proved countless times that I can be happy for WEEKS at a time with out them, and I know if I can just stay on track I dont have to feel dependent on pills

I NEED motivation. I can't rely on my boyfriend to push me through every work out, so does anyone have any tips or good self talk they use to push them through the wall?

    I say you need to find something that you love to do instead of forcing yourself to do P90x...
    Try hiking, or swimming, or playing a sport. Also, switch it up!!

    I find when I do the same repetitive thing over and over again, I lose motivation and get bored.
    I try to always do different things. Try having fun with your new, healthier, more active self.

    The thing is, I dont want to do anything. I love hiking and swimming but my self talk isn't necessarily saying "You Can't" as much as "I dont want to". When I start getting stressed like this, my anxiety disorder makes me get about 1000xs more stressed than a normal person, and i am bad with dealing with it, so I tend to put it in the back of my head and try to just ignore what is upseting me. I love p90x, its a great challenge and when you put everything into it until you reach failure, covered in sweat, and already sore you feel so proud of yourself. But I haven't had the energy or motivation to actually work out and not just go through the motion. Im only on day 13 out of 90, I just can't give up on it :(

    I hear ya. I went through the same thing. I used to much rather laying on the couch all day or sitting on the computer. The idea of getting up and doing something exhausted me by itself. Thing is though, I knew that I had to change for the better so I went out and did it. And it wasn't bad at all! I actually liked it. Instead of just sleeping for hours or watching TV with my boyfriend all day, we both enjoy being active together much more.

    Also, when I was sedentary I always had headaches, felt tired, unmotivated etc... I also always felt hungry. It was a very bad place to be for my health. Think of it that way. You NEED to do something, and you might as well enjoy it!

    If you still want to do P90x, go for it!! But I would also do other things so you build up your motivation and energy levels.

    :) thanks, maybe Ill try to do a little bit of yoga and some meditation to the rain, im making me some coffee now too, maybe that will help? would of course like more advice if people see this thread

    The P90x program is very extreme, as you are finding out. I have been successful with it, but I found if I wasn't eating enough calories I would crash and loose my motivation to continue. If you do the whole program you are burning massive calories. If you don't take in enough food you are going to bonk (a term used in the videos). If you are able to get through after one week it sounds like you are in good physical condition, so perhaps you just need to up the calories with clean food to give your body the energy you need to carry on.

    Yes, yoga would be great. It's much more low key than P90x so that may just be what you need... Something to mix it up. :)
    Hopefully the coffee will give you the kick in the butt you need. :P

    P90X is a great program, don't get me wrong, but I honestly believe people have different exercise temperaments.

    Me, I'd do great with a very specific program that pushes me to my limits and does that daily. If you switched up routines on me constantly for variety, I'd hit the wall.

    To stay motivated for something that is not a good fit with your personality may be hard, but I am going to ask you something else.

    Do you have short term goals? Do you reward yourself every time you hit them? Just completing a 90 day program and the body you will get at the end of it is all well and good, but what things are you doing to reward yourself along the way?
  • When I was reading your post it sounds a lot like me. I also have depression and high anxiety and just like you, I refuse to be on meds. Eating right and exercise really help so I feel they are not necessary to become dependent because my mom is and I see how her behavior and over all personality is different. Plus,it's expensive.
    Since it sounds like you are a little like me in that way, one thing to remember is when diet and exercise change, so do hormones. So maybe this is contributing to some of the ways you are feeling. Also, I would advise you to write a little in a journal if you don't already. I don't like doing this but it does help me sometimes really find out why I'm down. So write, and be honest with yourself. Ask yourself why you aren't wanting to help yourself all of a sudden. What's bothering you?who is making you feel like you are unworthy of having better health? Who has hurt you in the past?
    These questions really got to my core when I had to face them and answer them. But I learned something about myself and realized my health IS important and so am I. I hope you see how important you are and that you deserve to be healthy and happy. I wish you the best on your journey so please don't give up. You can message me anytime. <3

    I have probs with depression....it runs in my family. Maybe instead of ignoring your anxiety/depression try to write it in a journal. That way you can get it off your chest. Kudos to you for being strong enough not to use medications. They work but they also can cause weight gain.

    I think I will start a blog for me to log my thoughts feelings and stuff.. I think it would help. Im just now realizing how much is on my chest right now when I posted this and started talking to people. I have a lot of stuff going on right now, My brother was just deployed yesterday to go to Afghanistan being the biggest. I think that is what has triggered my emotions. Also when ever I get behind on my cleaning, laundry, etc it really stresses me out, more so than normal people I have found out. Not to mention I have a unknown roomie moving in in 10 days, and job starting in 18 days, and the list goes on and on. My new lifestyle change has been great as I have discovered that I have always need a crutch for stress relief. Before it was smoking, then when I quit that I went to food. I was reviewing my diaries to see if maybe i and missing something I did last week and not this week, and I found it, YOGA. I did it every morning around 9am. So im bring that back. I also am going to bed later there for waking up later. You all are giving me such good advice, I am already starting to feel better :)<3

    hi, sweetie. what about TOM? i get really sleepy and don't have much motivation. then when the bloating and water weight starts it's a drag.

    my brother is also deployed currently. he can skype me and sends emails, so that helps.

    today was supposed to be Kenpo but i decided to take a day off since i"m crazy sore from legs/back and do it tomorrow.
