Need suggestions for walking shoes.

I need a new pair of supportive walking shoes. Much of my walking is done on the beach but not all. In the winter months i often use a treadmill. I'll welcome any suggestions.

I use Merrell walking shoes, and I find them really good - for comfort, support and durability. I walk everywhere, as I don't have a car. I also like to go for 15-mile walks in the woods/countryside. And I have odd-shaped feet which can easily get sore in regular shoes (I can't wear heels, for instance). I've tried different sorts of shoes, and personally have found Merrell to be the best. They are expensive, but worth it. I wear them all the time, and I walk several miles a day.

I have Merrell also! Mine are the men's walking sandles - I refuse to buy "women's" shoes because I find that the focus seems to be more on form than function and durability.

I walk tons also and have found these to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever had, I prefer them over my running shoes! I have worn them hiking in the woods and walking in the city and don't regret my purchase of them at all. I will be buying another pair when these wear out.

Ah, that's interesting. It's never occurred to me to buy men's shoes, but I might try it next time - if they have my size, that is. I have small feet, so I often buy kids' shoes, as they're cheaper, but my Merrells are women's ones.
