Healthy Cottage Cheese Dressing
Just wanted to share this, as a lot of people want a healthy, low calorie dressing. I love to use cottage cheese as a base for making one! It's low on fat and carbs, and high on protein.
When making dressings I usually add chopped red garlic, chives and a tiny bit of chili. Bit of salt and pepper, squeeze a bit of lemon or lime on top, and it's ready to go. Great with salads, in jacket potatoes and similar. What I love to do is make baked half potatoes and put this dressing on top of the flat side (among with guacamole), and have for dinner as well
Some people don't like the consistency of CC, which can be fixed easily with a blender.
One container of CC contains about 288 calories. I'd say I use about 1/3 of this for a portion, which makes it 96 calories.
1/3 of one container contains:
Fat: 4.3 g
Carbs: 1.5 g
Protein: 13 g
Vitamin A: 5.7%
Calcium: 3.3%
Iron: 1.2%
