High 'energy foods' please advise

Hi there, got a big workout tonight and wondering what 'high energy' foods you can recommend (except bananas as cant stand them!!) also how far before workout should i eat them? Thanks for your time!

Nuts/coconut are very high in energy

Well you need foods high on carbs if your workout is gonna be intensive. Too bad you don't like bananas, they're my favourite morning pre-workout fuel
So your other options could be oatmeal (I eat oatmeal almost every morning with my protein shake), energy bars, almonds, pasta, lentils, energy gels, it really depends on what you like.
