How long do you wait before weighing yourself in the am?

I'm extremely curious to see all the different answers. I've been thinking about this quite often. Is there a right time to do this?

I usually weigh in every Wednesday after I finally get out of bed, and use the bathroom. A lot of the times I wait until I feel like my body is fully awake before stepping on the scale..which could be 20-30 minutes. I don't know this is is good or not. I started weighing in only once a month now.0

I'm trying not to weigh myself every day as Its kinda addictive.Going more for measurements this month. However I always step up after my shower and before I'm dressed. I just dont log it0

I agree I logg my monthly results but do have occasional moments where I step on the scale out of curiosity lol.0 -
I like to get an early morning work out in (that helps shed the bodily fluids that may have built up due to sodium and such). After showering and drying my hair, I go up to the gym to weigh once a week. I'm thinking about buying a scale, but I'm afraid I'd be tempted to weigh daily. I don't think that would be good for my peace of mind. I know weight fluctuates during the week. I wouldn't want the depression of that pound going up and down.0

Once a week, after I pee but before I get dressed.
I'll go nuts if I weigh daily, I just can't handle the day to day ups and downs0 -

After using the toilet and before eating. Weigh naked and you will get the most accurate number.0

This is something I have a problem with. I have a scale, don't get me wrong, I love it, but I seem to be stepping on it ALL the time! I'm going to have a friend hide it for me until September 1st. I don't want to step on it anymore. It shouldn't be about the number. It should be how I feel. I get extremely depressed if it goes up the next day, even though I know it's physically impossible for this to happen. You're smart for doing this.0 -
I only have scales at the gym, I've been weighing randomly when ever I remember, I usually do it just before I leave to go home. Usually in between 11.30am and 12.30pm0

Right after I wake up and have been to the bathroom, before I get dressed. Every friday morning0

I believe there is no "right" time, but as long as you do it the same time every day. I personally do it right when I wake up to see how my water retention is doing, because remember the scale doesn't tell you how fit/fat you are.0

I get up, pee, and then weigh. I weigh myself periodically during the week. But, I only weigh in once a week. Monday mornings...this motivates me through the weekend:-)0

i weigh everday and I always weigh myself in the morning after i pee when im naked before my shower... that way there less variables to affect it... plus its when im at my lowest since i'l be eating skip fulls of food throughout the day.
I dont mind the ups and downs aslong as i see a general slope in weight logged, i get that weight goes up and down 1 litre of water alone weighs 1kg admittedly we sweat and and pee but still thats enough of a fact for me to now worry about fluctuations in my weight.0 -
I weigh in after about an hour after I get up... I try not to do it daily.... usually mondays and fridays....Mondays lets me know if I went to crazy on the weekends and friday helps me not go crazy on the weekends LOL
where do I get one of those great trackers... I need to explore alittle more I think0 -
I was becoming obsessed with the scale. It was awful how often I was stepping on the scale. Now when I do weigh myself, I like to do it in the evenings, after noticing that that's when you get a higher number. Especially knowing that when I go to my Dr appointments they are always scheduled in the evenings. Monitoring the scale closely can be very emotional for me.0

The proper sequence is: get up, pee, weigh. You are then free to go about your day.0

I hate my scale and have bought 2 and returned 2 and am now on a third one. I need to focus on the fact I just bought a smaller size of jean and not the fact the scales I buy apparently LIE!0

Once a month, naked, preferably having been to the bathroom and on an empty stomach.
I'm taking my measurements once a week.0 -

same here- so Ive weighed myself once in a month and have no idea when I will again- I admit- I want to! But I refuse to step on a random scale for fear of it not matching the gym scale I so infrequently visit as it is.0 -
I do it every every 2 days and I average the results at the end of the week to determine my final weigh-in amount. I don't feel bad if the numbers go up on a certain day, it could be constipation or retaining water weight and also don't get my hopes up if it goes down. That could be due to dehydration.0
