Hey all! I'm one of those people who has always been active, but I've always struggled with my weight. Sometimes I was 10lbs over. Sometimes I was 30lbs over. Hours of exercise never helped. As a kid, my folks sent me to Weight Watchers, and I was tormented endlessly by my peers. I was anorexic. I was a compulsive exerciser. But I've never been able to maintain my weight. I've always eaten healthy - no junk food in the house, but apparently I always ate too much healthy food.

Scales scare me. I'm muscular ... so muscular that at 150lbs I'm skin and bones and biceps. What woman wants to step on the scale and see 160 or 170 or 180? None of us, so I just skipped the scales for years.

A friend turned me on to MFP in January, and I just guessed at my weight when I started. I figured that if I logged my food, I'd drop weight. It took me months of using MFP before I had the confidence to step on a scale. When I finally did, I was the lightest I'd been in years! Hooray!

So, I don't know how much weight I've lost. Maybe 20lbs? But I'm faster on a bike. Way faster. 3mph faster on the flats. And that was the whole point. I wouldn't mind dropping a few more pounds, but I'm not sweating it.

And now I know how to eat to maintain.

If you're a cyclist, please friend me! And if you live in Oregon, friend me, because that's where I live.

Good luck, everyone! You can do it too!
