Every day after I finish entering in all my food for the day, I am always way over in the protein. Is this ok? What does that actually do if you go over? Am I still going to lose as much if I go over?

MFP generally sets protein fairly low. I recommend going into your goals section, click on the customize button and enter your macro percentages as 40/30/30 (carbs/protein/fat). Try that and see where you're at.0

Bob Harper says your protein should equal in grams 1/2 of your body weight. ie 200#, 100 grams of protein. Good luck!0

Really its the deficit. I like what Amanda put you can change your goals. Don't pay attention too much at the other stuff until you run into a plateau or have a really low body fat %. Because really its about the calories at this point. Note that if you are low on energy you can up the carbs a little to help. Sometimes a lot of protein means less carbs and less energy but usually that if you are at a low body fat % too. Basically… do you feel good and are you still loosing weight/inches/body fat? Then if so keep doing what you are doing.0

Thanks. This is just my first week, and I've lost 4 pounds.. I know some is probably water weight, I don't expect to lose 4 pounds a week! But yes, I do have a lot of energy, most days, and so far I have lost an inch. Thank you for the help!0 -
Do the macros change, I was wondering the same thing at first, why I was ALWAYS wayyy under in carbs and wayyy over in protein. MFP sets it to 55/30/15 carbs/fat/protein, I changed mine to 40/30/30 and have been perfectly fine now, much easier to be balanced at those ratios0
