What are your most inspiring/favourite quotes?

I find I have collected quite a few quotes over the years that keep me going, and I imagine we all have them. What are yours and why?

Here's a few of my favourites and why.

"Just do it."

We all too often think our way out of something before we even try it. Our current state of mind gets in the way of making the attempt to change it. How often have you planned on hitting the gym and procrastinated or thought "I'll just go double hard tomorrow"? I find that in order to remain consistent, I "just do it", no thoughts, no worries, no EXCUSES!

"It's the effort that counts."

So true. We try to measure our success with the scale, with measuring tapes and callipers, photos and more. The real reason we're all doing this is to FEEL BETTER. That is something that we measure internally on our own scale of unhappy to happy. More than anything, I've found that just putting in a solid and consistent effort is what makes me happy, because I'm not letting myself down, I'm achieving what I set out to do. And no matter what the scale (or other devices) say, I'm committed to my health and wellbeing, and that shows up long term, down the road, not in tomorrow number on the scale.

"There is no road to success that isn't paved with failure." (and other various versions)

This is so true, and yet something that often drags down our morale and get in the way of our success. By nature, we put in the work, we want results - NOW. The best way to learn is from our mistakes, yet we inherently hate making them. It takes a strong mind to recognize our own failures and see them as stepping stones to doing better next time - that is the true measure of success, getting back on the wagon.

"Anything in life worth having, is worth the work."

Pretty straight forward - if you want to have nice things (or a nice body/mind) you have to work for it. You can't get something from nothing. I find the more I have to appreciate in life, the happier I am, and a sense of appreciation comes from how much work you put in.
